Belle Miners will be visiting the beautiful community of Powell River to present their two-hour workshop 'Learn to LOVE Your Voice!' at Solsken Farm featuring the bands most widely acclaimed skills:Singing, Harmonizing & Songwriting! The session begins with a voice lesson from vocal coach Felicia Harding. A thoughtful and engaging teacher, Felicia uses her years of fronting bands of all genres and serious vocal study and coaching (SingIT Studio, Victoria, BC) to bring you a warm-up that will get those chords feeling ready for just about anything! She will explain the "mechanics of the voice" and delve into how to protect and develop your vocal instrument. Following your vocal warm up we will dive into the wonderful world of vocal harmonies. Belle Miners’ are a harmony-rich band and Jaime Jackett (hailing from Broome, Australia, where she has lead many choirs and vocal ensembles) will break down the basics, piece by piece in a fun and easy to understand manner. You will walk away with some tools in your belt to start working on your own harmonies. Finally, we will turn to the art of songwriting. Marina Avros has written well over 300 songs in her time as a touring musician and has been conducting a community based Songwriting Choir on the South of Vancouver Island.
